The Beauty of Linen

Beautiful, soft, durable, and practical—we love linen for a host of reasons. Here at Nuraxi we’re ringing in the start of summer with our latest linen arrivals: chic cocktail napkins and one-of-a-kind dishtowels direct from Argentina.

Linen has an incredibly rich history and has been used in woven textiles for thousands of years. A favorite of the ancient Egyptians, linen is sourced from the flax plant. Post-harvest, flax reeds are left in the fields to decompose, revealing soft fibers beneath a tough outer stem. These fibers are then collected and stored to soften further before being spun into linen.

Thicker and stronger than cotton, linen maintains the breathability of cotton with the added benefit of a beautiful drape. Plus, linen is lightweight, resistant to pilling, and will keep its strength through repeated washings.

Hand-dyed and cross-stitched by skilled artisans in Buenos Aires, our linen has earned heirloom quality-status for its durability. Invite a touch of classic, old-world craftsmanship into your home with our lovely linen pieces, sure to be cherished for generations to come!
